Traffic Flow Narrative and Map
Title
Traffic Flow Narrative and Map
Body
Attached are two documents: A PowerPoint presentation that shows our drop-off/pick-up traffic flow, and a narrative to help explain the traffic flow. Families new to Timberview will want to review these documents.
For our returning families there are no changes to our traffic pattern. We attempted changes last year, and that did not go well. We examined a number of suggestions over the summer and found that our current pattern provides the best traffic flow under our land-locked circumstances. Morning drop-off tends to run very smoothly because families arrive at various times. Afternoon traffic tends to be slower because everyone tends to arrive at 3:40 dismissal. A great strategy to avoid the afternoon traffic is to arrive about 10 minutes after dismissal to pick up your child if time allows. We have staff outside the building after school until 4:00 PM.
Please refrain from parking in the neighborhood and along the streets to pick up your child. That practice increases danger for our walking children as it blocks their line of sight, and it does not get your child to you any faster than going through our loop. The loop is almost always completely clear by 3:55 PM, only 15 minutes after our 3:40 dismissal.
Thank you for your patience as we assist over 1100 students and families in safe and timely arrival and departure from school. See you soon!
