As part of our school's guidance program, some students are invited to participate in small counseling group sessions guided by me, the school counselor. Any student is eligible to participate however, parent permission is required if they would like to join. Permission slips will be sent home to individuals that have been referred by either their teacher or the parent. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Group sessions focus on areas such as friendship, family changes, anger management, study skills, and social skills. Children who share common concerns will meet together to receive the support through related and developmentally appropriate activities, talking, learning, and sharing. All groups will last 6 weeks and will be during the school day for thirty minutes. Therefore if your child participates he or she will be responsible for all missed assignments. Groups are not therapeutic, but due offer students an opportunity to connect with others with similar experiences. Group is also a great way for students to learn new ways of coping and be able to speak freely about certain situations. Remember group is optional therefore, I am not required to make students attend.
