Town Hall Meeting Addresses Underage Drinking

Keller's Stay on Track Coalition will host "Communities Talk: Town Hall Meetings to Prevent Underage Drinking,"  The Town Hall will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, beginning with a free dinner at 5:30 p.m. at The Plex, which is located on the west side of NorthWood Church, at 1870 Rufe Snow Drive in Keller.

The event will feature a panel discussion, Q&A Session, Entertainment, Resource Fair, and Door Prizes.

Spring graduation for New Direction High School students will take place at the Education Center on Thursday, June 2nd. Commencement will begin at 7:00pm with a reception immediately following. The Education Center located at 350 Keller Parkway.

​Join us Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6-9pm for the 6th Annual Keller ISD Safe and Drug-Free Wellness Fair.  This informative event will take place at the Keller ISD Education Center located at 350 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248.

Communities Talk: Spanish Town Hall Meeting to Prevent Underage Drinking

Keller's Stay on Track Coalition will host "Communities Talk: Spanish Town Hall Meeting to Prevent Underage Drinking,"  The meeting will be held from 5:30-8:30p.m. on Tuesday, May 24th. Fossil Hill Middle School will host the event. (3821 Staghorn Circle South, Fort Worth, TX 76137)

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about the negative impacts of underage drinking, examine laws that prevent those under 21 from obtaining alcohol and mobilize the community to take action in prevention initiatives.

​Students who will be driving to the Keller Learning Center will need to purchase a parking permit from Mrs. Martinez at the front desk.  

Phoenix Theatre Presents The Kitchen Witches

Phoenix Theatre students at New Direction High School will present the comedy, The Kitchen Witches by Caroline Smith. This hilarious play features two cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, but now circumstances have them cooking on set together!

The production will run from October 20th-23rd.

October 20th-22nd:  Dinner will be served nightly at 6pm ($10) and the show starts at  7pm ($5)

Sunday, October 23rd: Lunch will be served at 1pm ($10) and the show starts at 2pm ($5)

7th Annual Safe and Drug-Free Wellness Fair

​Keller ISD's Counseling Department and Safety and Security Department invite you to attend the 7th Annual Safe and Drug-Free Wellness Fair on Tuesday, October 25, at the KISD Education Center.

The Safe and Drug-Free Wellness Fair is an opportunity to collect resources and information while connecting with local services and organizations to help fight youth drug abuse and addiction in our community.

In addition to vendor booths, there will be presentations on synthetic/prescription drug trends. There will also be a panel discussion with recovering addicts and their families entitled "Sharing Our Story."

The KISD Safe and Drug-Free Wellness Fair is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, at the KISD Education Center (350 Keller Parkway).

Parent Support Session

​A parent/guardian of every student assigned to DAEP must complete a parent support session prior to his/her child being released from DAEP. Sessions will resume at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year.​

You will receive a reminder email 12-24 hours prior to the start of the session.  Please b​e sure you have given a correct email address.

Meetings take place at The Keller Learning Center.​ 

District-Wide College Fair Monday, Nov 14

Keller ISD will host a District-wide College Fair from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 14 at Timber Creek High School. 

Representatives from more than 75 colleges and organizations are scheduled to be in attendance, including ivy league schools, four-year universities, community colleges, technical institutes, armed forces, and job placement agencies. This will be a great opportunity for all Keller ISD students, regardless of post-high school interests.

The Tarrant County College Financial Aid Department will also be hosting financial aid information sessions in the Fine Arts Center that evening every 30 minutes.

Timber Creek High School is located at 12350 Timberland Blvd.​

Winter Break

KLC students will begin Winter Break with early release on Friday, December 16th and return to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. We hope everyone enjoys a restful and happy holiday!​

NDHS Graduation

​DATE CHANGE--New Direction High School will hold graduation for the first semester on January 20, 2017.  This date has been changed from January 19th due to a scheduling conflict at the venue. 

Please note the new date: January 20, 2017 at 7:00pm in the Rock Gym at the Education Center, 350 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248.​
Presidential Inauguration-January 20th

​All KISD students will have the opportunity to view the Presidential Inauguration on January 20th.

December STAAR Test Results

​Student's December STAAR test results will be communicated electronically by the end of this week. Be on the look-out for a "do not reply" email from KISD that will include your student's unique access code and instructions on how to access the test scores using the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) online portal.​

Phoenix Theatre Presents 'Sylvia'

​New Direction High School theatre ​students will present 'Sylvia' by A.R. Gurney.   Love and laughter are unleashed as Greg and Kate move to New York and adopt a dog named Sylvia. The play is a smart, silly, sophisticated, and occasionally salty comedy about relationships, nature, and growing older.​

Shows begin nightly at 7:00pm from Thursday, February 23rd through Saturday, February 25th. The final performance will begin at 3:00pm on Sunday, February 26th with a portion of the proceeds benefitting ​the Humane Society of North Texas.  Tickets are $5 and The Phoenix Theatre is located at 250 N. College Ave, Keller, TX 76248.

School Walk for Diabetes April 1

​This year's theme is "Diabetes, It's No Joke." The event will be held at the Keller ISD Athletics Complex. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. with an Opening Ceremony, followed by the walk which begins at 9:15 a.m. Doors will open that day at 8 a.m.

This year's School Walk for Diabetes includes a silent auction, jugglers, vendors, craft stations, music, food, and fun. Visit Nurse Avila for more information on signing up and ordering a T-shirt for this year's event.​

Choices Youth Conference

Choices is a conference for 500 middle and high school Keller ISD students. This empowerment-oriented conference will include several dynamic speakers as well as breakout sessions that will encourage participants to apply the practical strategies they’ve learned to change their community’s problems connected to alcohol, drugs, and other social concerns and challenges.

Topics include Test Anxiety, College Prep, Sexting, Suicide, Drugs, Depression and much more!

The conference will be held April 21 at Harvest Church from 9:30am-2:00pm. Transportation, food and giveaways will be provided!!

New Direction High School Graduation
