Our mission at Keller-Harvel is to create an optimal learning experience where all children can learn by providing an engaging, positive school environment that promotes ongoing collaboration with teachers, parents, and community members for the success of all students.

 Principal's Message

Keller-Harvel Elementary is a campus dedicated to meeting the needs of each and every student.  Our staff is passionate about learning and eager to develop the unique potential within each child.  We work daily to provide the students of KHES with exceptional learning opportunities and prepare them for their bright future.

We believe in a strong partnership between school, home, and community.  This partnership is what makes KHES a very special place to be.  We encourage all our families to get involved and we are happy to help get you plugged in and connected.

Welcome to Keller-Harvel

Arrival & Dismissal

Staff will be outside every morning 7:35-7:55 a.m. to help your child get out of the car. You may use either lane to drop off your child. For the safety of everyone, we ask that you not change lanes. Staff will direct all students to enter through the cafeteria foyer doors at the front of the school. During dismissal at 3:10 p.m. , K-1st grade car riders will use the inside lane and 2nd-4th grade car riders will use the outside lane. Parents who are picking up students from the gym, will park then enter the gym near the bike racks. Carpools of 3+ KHES students are welcome to use the bus loop off Johnson Rd to drop off and pick up students. All parents/guardians must have their pick-up sign. For the safety of our students, all visitors without a sign will be asked to go to our main office to show proper identification. Traffic flow will be the same as in previous years. Traffic is typically busier during the first weeks of school and we appreciate your patience.

Morning Assembly

Beginning the second day of school all students and teachers will start in the cafeteria with a schoolwide morning assembly at 7:55am. This assembly will include the pledges, a moment of silence, birthday wishes, and daily announcements. This is a time for the entire school to be together to create a strong community, share celebrations, learn about important topics, and gain an awareness of events on campus. Students who arrive 7:25-7:55 will be directed to enter at the front of the school through the cafeteria foyer doors (closest to the cafeteria) and proceed directly to the cafeteria for morning assembly. Students who arrive after 7:55 will need to check-in at the office for a tardy pass. Parents are invited to attend morning assembly all year.

Lunch Guests

Parents/guardians are always welcome to eat with their child. Due to limited seating and safety concerns, friends are not allowed to join other students at the guest tables. We encourage guests to put away cell phones to enjoy quality time with their child.

Procedures for visitors will apply throughout the entire school day. All visitors will be required to enter through the office, provide picture identification, and obtain a visitor sticker/badge before proceeding to any other part of the building. This procedure ensures we know who is in the building at all times. Office staff will verify the visitor is a parent, guardian, or approved contact for the student. Guests are required to exit the building through the front doors during school hours.
