Our PTA is doing a fundraiser between now and April 5th with the World's Finest Chocolate company. Depending on how much money is earned the fundraiser will be used in 4 main areas: filling teacher grants (lowering the cost of field trips, Raz Kids, math supplies, etc.), playground equipment, technology (Chromebooks), and books for our guided reading library used for classroom instruction.

I want you to have some information upfront on how this fundraiser works to help with any confusion. Students will bring home information and a permission slip today. Please look at it carefully. For your child to participate, s/he will need to have a permission slip signed. By signing the permission slip you are committing to selling 30 chocolate bars at $2 a bar and returning the $60 by April 5th. Once you receive a box of items and it is opened it may not be returned. In essence, by signing the permission slip and getting a box of chocolate bars you are committing to donate $60 to our PTA.

If you have any questions on this fundraiser please email:

As part of the R.O.C.K. project, this years art teachers have adopted the new Keller location for the North Texas Humane Society as our charity project. Selected student artwork will be rotated on display at the shelter throughout the year and we will be making toys, pet beds, scratching posts, etc. for the animals.

Over the holidays the animals go to foster homes while they await adoptions. I am holding a drive for our school to collect items the shelter needs for the employees, animals, and foster families during this time. Students, their families, and teachers are invited to participate.

The Casey’s Kids Program started in 1997 when Janie Casey, a former counselor with the Keller Independent School District, discovered that a student was limiting the number of school days attended per week due to a lack of clothing. It was this student’s need that led to Ms. Casey’s mission to find a way to fund the clothing needs of students in need district-wide. Named in Janie’s honor, the Casey’s Kids Fun Run began as an effort to provide clothing, initially, and has now expanded to include other items such as school supplies and household needs. Funds are kept in Keller ISD and distributed to Keller ISD families by our school counselors.
With this being the 20th anniversary, we want lots of people out there running and walking this year. Like all years this is a family event. All ages and ability levels are encouraged to attend and participate.
