She has been in public education for 25 years and is passionate about connecting students to a future of their choice. She serves on the Tarrant County Sherriff’s Department Advisory Board and is a board member for the Challenge of Tarrant County’s Stay on Track Coalition. As a member of the Keller Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Shepherd has had the opportunity to meet and connect with various business and community members throughout this area. She is always in search of the best opportunities for the students of Keller ISD.Katie WawakAssistant PrincipalKatie Wawak is the Assistant Principal of the Keller Center for Advanced Learning. She attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a B.S. in Food Science and Technology along with a Business Minor. After spending a few years in the Food and Sales Industries, she decided to make the move to Education. She began her career as a Middle School Science Teacher. Upon realizing she wanted to make a bigger impact, she attend Lamar University to obtain her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. She spent 2 years at the Elementary level gaining knowledge and experiences to build on the foundational cores of learning. When learning about KCAL, she decided she wanted to blend her Industry background with educational experiences and build opportunities for the students to learn about their passions.
