Pros●pect (n) – anticipation; expectation; a looking forward

Good morning Parkwood Hill family,

I hope you're having a great weekend, and enjoying some sunshine.  Below, you'll see I've added the May calendar, and it's packed with great events!  When our kids return for the final six-weeks on Tuesday, it will move very quickly, so please take a few minutes to preview what's ahead.

As a reminder, our PTA Spring Social is this Friday, and admission wristbands will be sold all week.  Our PTA is still accepting parent volunteers, so if you'd like to have fun while serving our kiddos, please sign up here.

We are excited to finish the month of April strong, and appreciate your continued support.  There is much to accomplish, but with your help, the end of the school year will be amazing.  As always, I wish you nothing but the best.  Have a great week ahead!

Giving you my "Bulldog Best, Never Less,"

Brad Tyler, Principal

Color Out Day! – All students and staff are encouraged to show their House spirit by wearing their house shirts, house gear, and/or house colors!

PTA Spring Social, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Parkwood Hill – Our PTA proudly presents "Hawaiian Nights," the spring social featuring a live deejay, carnival games, prize giveaways, unlimited cake walk, and more!  Students may bring additional money for face painting, photo booth, concessions, candy, and light-up accessories.

Please note, the Keller ISD Student Dress Code applies, and this is a "lock-in" event.  Students may dress for the theme, but any student who is not appropriately dressed may be removed.  Parent visitors will not be allowed inside the building, and students will not be dismissed before 9:00 p.m.  Any students who can not stay until 9:00 p.m. should not attend.

IMPORTANT Spring Social Dismissal Information – It will be dark outside when students leave our spring social on Friday, so if your child will be attending, please make a specific plan for him/her to get home safely.  Students may walk home (groups strongly recommended), or be picked up by car using our everyday dismissal routines.  If you will be picking up your child by car, please remain in your vehicle.  If you plan to meet and walk your child home, please designate a place (e.g. bike rack, stop sign, etc.) away from the front doors where you will meet.  It's critical that our front doors not be blocked by parents at dismissal.  Please be patient, safe, and watchful as our students leave in the evening.

Physical Evaluation for Sixth Graders Registering for Athletics – State law requires that UIL Physical and Medical History forms be documented for every student who plans on being in 7th grade athletics.  Parents are asked to have their child's physical completed, and their medical history documented, for submission to Hillwood Middle School as soon as possible.  Click here to access the required physical evaluation and medical history forms.  These must be completed by a physician.

Student Drop-off/Pick-up Safety – All drivers are expected to be vigilant, drive slowly, and follow our "Arrival & Dismissal Guide" found herePlease do not disrupt the flow of traffic by dropping off or picking up your child at a stop sign, or along the main lanes of Redwood Trail; Parkwood Hill Blvd.  Drivers should always yield to pedestrians and demonstrate courtesy to other drivers.

Still Needed!  Volunteer for the Spring Social – Our PTA is looking for parents who want to have fun while serving our bulldogs at the Spring Social this Friday!  We need your help to make the evening a success, and there are tons of ways to serve.  Please sign-up now by clicking here!  We are extremely grateful for all of our volunteers, and we know that without you, events like this would not be possible.  Thank you!

Attend the Keller ISD Education Foundation "Rooted" Gala – The Keller ISD Education Foundation (KEF) funds innovative classroom grants for teachers, and senior scholarships for KISD students. Their annual gala represents the primary source of funding for these programs, and will take place at the Marriott Champions Circle on April 28, 2018.  For more information, and/or to purchase tickets, visit

Attend a Free Parent Workshop - Each month, the Keller Learning Center is offering free parent workshops.  These are open to all Keller ISD parents, and cover a wide variety of topics.  Some of the upcoming sessions include "Sexting and Cyberbullying for Parents," "The Importance of a Mentor," "Self-Esteem: What is it, and why is it important?," and "Communication: Making the Connection."  Click here to take a look at all available sessions, and please sign up!

Register to Volunteer - If you plan to volunteer on our campus this spring, please make sure you have successfully completed the 2017-2018 KISD Volunteer Application.  This application and background check must be completed each year, and will cover all Keller ISD campuses when successful.  All parents/guardians must apply online, and can access the application here.
