STAAR Testing

Biology - Tuesday, May 8
US History - Wed., May 9th
  • We ask for your support in ensuring that your son or daughter is in attendance on the day of testing and that you avoid appointments or early releases during this time.
  • Students testing who take classes at KCAL need to report directly to Fossil Ridge the morning of the test. KCAL students not taking the test will attend classes as normal. Co-op students should make arrangements with their employers for late arrival to work.
  • Student test results will also be invalidated for possession and/or use of any electronic devices (i.e. cell phone, IPOD, MP3 player, smart watch, etc.) during the campus testing time.  Your students will be asked to turn off all devices.  Any devices that are brought to the testing centers will be collected, labeled, and stored, and supervised by the teachers until the end of the testing day.  Student possession of electronic devices during a state assessment could result in collection of the device, a $15 charge to reclaim, disciplinary action, and possible invalidation of a student’s test scores.
  • Students will need to bring a sack lunch on test day or may purchase one from the cafeteria, which will be available for pick up prior to the start of the test.   The English I and II STAAR exams have a five-hour time limit while the Algebra I and U. S. History STAAR tests are four hours in length.
  • Some students will relocate classrooms the day of testing. Here is a list of the room relocations for the April testing days.
  • Please don’t hesitate to call the school if you have concerns or questions. (817) 477-1700.
