My primary goal in education is to make students thoughtful and literate. Students should be allowed to expand positive self-concepts and values; develop critical, analytical and higher-order thinking skills; and discover an acceptance of other diverse human beings. Classroom learning is essential, but extra-curricular activities—academics, athletics, and fine arts—are the heart and soul of a young person’s learning process. Success in the classroom or during a performance can change the face of a young person. It has the ability to inspire a student to fully realize his or her potential. I hope my hard work will offer a training ground for tomorrow’s leaders.
